With Windows 7 having being released more and more people are using Internet Explorer 8. While Internet Explorer 6 is still very prevalent Internet Explorer 7 seems to be least used version of Internet Explorer.
So I’ve decided to not worry about Internet Explorer 7, otherwise known as IE7, any more. I do still promise to make sure web sites work in different web browsers but I have to make a decision on what the cut off is for each web browser.
Some people may say it’s too early to drop support for IE7. The latest figure I’ve seen is it’s use is at just under 15% of global usage. But with IE8 having climbed to just over 22% and IE6 having slowly gone down to 20%. IE7 is not the most popular version of Internet Explorer.
Plus as I did say Windows 7 is now available and nothing kills off old web browsers like a new operating system. IE8 is the version of Internet Explorer that is associated with Windows 7. Of course the European Union has said something about that but I dare say IE8 will still prevail at least over older versions of Internet Explorer.
So that’s it.

Gosh, I haven’t used any of the explorers for several years now and instead am using firefox. I know there are a number of others out there too so I’m supposing that has something to do with the drop off of IE usage across the board?

hulitoons there has been an an increase in usage of other web browsers like Mozilla Firefox. Naturally that leads to a correlating decrease in IE usage.
IE, in all it’s versions, is still the most prevalent web browser. I tend to use Safari myself.
